Changelog

Clearer Platform Invoices

Platform invoices now explain what was billed, whether anything remains to be paid, and why a charge was waived, with direct access to the corresponding Stripe invoice.

  • Clear Payment States: Paid and settled invoices show their actual invoice total and make it clear that no balance remains instead of presenting the total as still due.
  • Specific Waiver Reasons: Zero-dollar invoices now state whether the commission was waived for the first profitable month, a newsletter subscription, or because it fell below the billing minimum, including the calculated amount that was waived.
  • Stripe Invoice Access:Invoice numbers now link to Stripe's hosted invoice, with a separate PDF option when available.
  • Better Historical Context: Older invoices use their original PnL billing basis instead of showing missing gross, cost, and net values as misleading zeroes.

Optional Trading Cost Sharing

Public traders can now choose whether to share their trading costs, giving profile visitors more context around the costs included in net PnL without making that information public by default.

  • Opt-In Cost Sharing: A new Share Trading Costs control is available under Public Mode and remains disabled until you explicitly turn it on.
  • Clickable Cost Breakdown:Visitors can click Trading Costs on a public profile to see each shared cost's name, category, frequency, and converted impact across the public journal period.
  • Private by Default: Net PnL still accounts for recognized trading costs, while gross PnL, cost totals, itemized costs, and internal billing details stay private unless cost sharing is enabled.

AI Journal Actions & Smoother Replies

AI Assistance can now turn a conversation into a private journal entry, while goal creation and chat responses are more reliable and polished.

  • Create Journal Entries: Ask AI Assistance to record your notes, takeaway, PnL, currency, emotions, market conditions, or time spent for today or an earlier trading day.
  • Private and Non-Destructive: AI-created entries remain private, respect your account timezone, reject future dates, and never overwrite an entry that already exists for that day.
  • Page-Aware Journal Dates: On a journal entry page, AI Assistance automatically uses the date currently shown. From elsewhere, it asks you to confirm the date before creating an entry.
  • Safer Goal Creation: Goal actions now validate supported metrics and target values, choose the matching goal category, and use the same timezone-aware periods as the Goals page.
  • Smoother Answers: Streaming replies now arrive through a paced reveal with an animated response bubble, typing cursor, and steadier scrolling instead of appearing as one large block.

AI Coaching Focus & Journal Polish

TradingStreak can now remember your current trading challenge and use it as context for onboarding, Copilot, and weekly AI reports without turning every report into the same repeated advice.

  • AI Coaching Focus: Added a new tradingChallenges profile field with database migration, settings storage, onboarding capture, local-to-cloud sync, and privacy copy.
  • Smarter AI Context: Copilot now gets your coaching focus in its user context, the sidebar can suggest a focused review, and weekly AI reports compare recent prior reports before choosing the next coaching angle.
  • Costs Refresh Reliability: Costs now load with fresh API responses, emit client update events, and refresh automatically inside the journal when costs change elsewhere.
  • Journal UX Polish: Empty journal notes now get a confirmation step, and a few small data-loading details were tightened around the journal and settings experience.

Tax Estimates & Challenge Hardening

TradingStreak now supports optional tax estimates across the journal experience, with clearer challenge, billing, calendar, and mobile flows around the edges.

  • Optional Tax Estimates: Added user tax settings, validation for /api/user/taxes, a reusable taxes library with tests, and a showTaxEstimates preference so estimates only appear when you want them.
  • Journal & Costs Integration: Costs, Journal, Settings, glossary, and changelog surfaces now understand tax estimates and can render estimate rows alongside other trading costs.
  • Informational PnL Treatment: Tax estimates are excluded from billing and public net PnL, keeping shared results and subscription calculations based on realized trading performance.
  • Platform Hardening: Challenge management now has tighter validation, date handling, and participant counts, while Macro Radar and calendar fetches have timeout protection.
  • UX Polish: Clarified public PnL and billing copy, redesigned the mobile feature preview, and refined assorted copy and interface details across the app.

Faster Journal First Load

The journal now starts with server-prepared data for the visible period, making first load feel much faster while keeping the full client-side journal experience intact after hydration.

  • Server-Side Journal Bootstrap: The journal page now fetches the initial entries, goals, strategies, and brokers on the server before rendering the first view.
  • Cleaner Journal Architecture: Journal rendering logic moved into a dedicated client component, allowing the route itself to handle server-side data preparation.
  • Smarter Initial State: The app layout now passes initial authentication and role state into the sidebar, reducing delayed Admin and Partner navigation updates.
  • Less Client-Side Waiting: Goals, events, and Macro Radar now distinguish loading, loaded, and error states instead of briefly looking empty while data is still being fetched.

TradingView Platform & Market Holidays

TradingStreak now presents TradingView as a dedicated import platform across the product experience, and the event calendar can display U.S. market holidays directly inside the monthly calendar view.

  • TradingView Import Platform: Added TradingView as an import platform with its own SVG logo, updated asset paths, and test coverage to ensure platform logos are present.
  • Brokers & Platforms UI: Introduced a new brokers and platforms section and refreshed related landing page, settings, FAQ, and navigation surfaces so broker connections and import platforms are easier to understand.
  • Calendar Holidays: The calendar now understands holiday data from the Diszy calendar API and shows U.S. holidays as compact all-day badges on the matching date cards.
  • Cleaner Calendar Filtering: Calendar loading now separates UI-only filters from economic event filters, allowing holidays to remain visible even when economic events are suppressed.

Powerful Image Viewer & Chart Comments

Images and charts are now easier to inspect, annotate, and use as part of your trading review. Attached screenshots open in a dedicated viewer, and short image comments now become part of the journal context used by AI coaching and Copilot.

  • Large Image Viewer: Click any journal image to open a focused viewing mode with zoom, pan, rotation, previous/next navigation, keyboard controls, and thumbnails.
  • Better Screenshot Handling: Image previews now preserve the full screenshot instead of cropping it, so portrait, ultrawide, square, and very tall chart images stay readable.
  • Image Comments: Add a short note to each image directly from the Images & Charts widget, perfect for marking entries, exits, invalidations, or what you wanted to remember from the chart.
  • Smarter AI Context: Image comments are included in weekly AI coaching reports and Copilot context alongside their PnL links, without sending the underlying image data.

TradingView Import

TradingView can now be enabled as an import platform. Export Order History > Filled as a CSV, import it from a journal entry, and review the matched realized PnLs before saving them.

  • Platform Toggle:TradingView lives under Settings > Platforms and stays off until you enable it, so the TradingView Import action only appears when you want to use it.
  • Filled-Order CSV Support:The importer reads TradingView Order History > Filled CSVs and uses FIFO matching to turn closed executions into PnL rows.
  • Broker Attribution: Symbols such as PEPPERSTONE:GBTC are mapped back to your matching broker, keeping broker statistics intact without treating TradingView itself as a broker.
  • Review Before Saving: Imported rows show inferred currency conversion details, commission warnings, multi-day spans, and long, short, or mixed direction tags before they are added.

Trade Image Linking

Images and charts can now be connected to individual PnL rows, making it easier to review the chart state at trade entry and exit instead of keeping images only attached to the journal entry as a whole.

  • Single, Before, and After Images: Each attached image can be linked to a PnL row as a normal image, before chart, or after chart.
  • Image Widget Linking: The image grid now owns the PnL assignment controls and shows link badges for images connected to specific rows.
  • AI Extraction Link: When AI extracts a PnL from an image, the new PnL row keeps that image linked as its normal image.

Journal Publishing & Paid Subscriptions

TradingStreak now supports public trader publishing, so readers can follow traders for new journal updates and subscribe to paid journals through Stripe.

  • Follow Traders: Follow a public trader profile to keep up with newly published journal entries and return to them from the Following area.
  • Paid Journal Subscriptions: Publishers can enable monthly subscriptions, connect Stripe, and give subscribers full access to eligible journal entries.
  • Publishing Controls: Traders decide whether publishing is enabled, what followers can preview, the monthly price, and whether subscribers can read the full archive or only entries from their subscription date onward.
  • Reader Management: Subscribers can see the traders they subscribe to, manage billing in Stripe, and keep access until the end of the paid period after cancellation.
  • Subscription Emails: New subscriber and confirmation emails now include the subscription details, cancellation guidance, and the current legal terms from the same source used on the website.

Trading Groups Hardening

Groups are now a more complete collaboration feature, with stricter access controls, clearer membership management, and group data limited to active members.

  • Safer Group Access: Group compare data, challenges, and group leaderboards now require an active group membership before loading.
  • Member Management: Group admins can edit or delete groups, approve or reject join requests, and remove members from Settings.
  • 10-Member Limit: Join requests and approvals now enforce the documented cap of 10 active members per group.
  • Cleaner Settings UI: The Groups section now shows descriptions, roles, request status, member counts, and available actions in one place.

Interactive Brokers Import

Interactive Brokers joins the broker import workflow. You can now use the IBKR Import action with Flex Query XML files, and Activity Statement or Daily Trade Report PDFs can be reviewed through the AI-assisted PDF parser.

  • One IBKR Import Button: The Performance widget now accepts both IBKR Flex Query XML and PDF statement files from the same import action.
  • Closed-Lot XML Support: Flex Query XML imports map closed realized trades into PnL rows, including multi-day spans when the opening and closing dates differ.
  • AI-Assisted PDF Parsing: IBKR PDFs are reduced locally before AI extraction, dropping reference and legal-note pages where possible so only relevant trade pages are submitted.
  • Review Before Import: Ambiguous, unreadable, or low-confidence PDF rows are skipped and shown as warnings. If readable rows exist alongside warnings, TradingStreak pauses for review before applying the import.
  • No Guessing PnL: Daily Trade Report execution rows are imported only when realized PnL can be computed from visible open/close data or cost basis. Otherwise, the row is shown as a manual-review warning instead of creating a guessed PnL.

Landing Page AI PnL Dropzone

New traders can now test TradingStreak with a real PnL or trade screenshot before opening the journal. The landing page extracts daily PnL with AI and hands the result straight into a journal entry.

  • Drop In a Screenshot: Upload a PnL or trade screenshot from the landing page and get a daily realized PnL preview grouped by close date.
  • Journal Handoff: Each extracted daily total can prefill a journal entry with the PnL, currency, close date, and review note while leaving the screenshot out of saved journal data.
  • Better Error Handling: The extractor now distinguishes missing PnL, missing close dates, missing opening trades, unsupported screenshots, and ambiguous screenshots.
  • Abuse Safeguards: Public landing-page extraction is protected by persisted daily upload limits: 15 total uploads per day and 3 uploads per IP per day.

Compare Picker & Analytics Comparison Flow

Compare is now a contextual workflow instead of a prominent standalone destination. Trader and group selection moved into Journal and Analytics, leaderboard rows can add traders to comparison, and comparison stats now use real public journal data instead of placeholders.

  • Reusable Compare Picker: Journal and Analytics now open the same trader/group picker directly, so you can choose comparison targets without leaving the page.
  • Leaderboard Compare Actions: Leaderboard rows now include a compact compare action for adding or removing traders from your comparison set.
  • Analytics Supports Individuals: Analytics comparison now works with individually selected traders as well as groups.
  • Cleaner Navigation: Compare was removed from the primary sidebar and sitemap while the direct /compare route remains available as a compatibility entry point.
  • Real Public Stats: Search and comparison cards now show real public journal-day and win-rate data, respecting private stats instead of showing placeholder values.

Timezone-Aware Goals & Currency-Aware Reports

Goals, reports, email summaries, privacy details, and AI Assistance copy all received updates to make TradingStreak more accurate across timezones, currencies, and daily trading workflows.

  • Timezone-Aware Goal Periods: Goal date ranges and recurring renewals now respect your account timezone, so weekly, monthly, quarterly, and yearly goals roll over at the right local time.
  • Richer AI Reports: Report generation now reads row-level PnL entries, normalizes currencies, converts values with exchange rates, and includes win, loss, break-even, entry-count, and journaled-day stats in the analysis.
  • Better Email Summaries: Weekly report emails now format money values more clearly and can show the report currency and number of entries behind the analysis.
  • AI Assistance Polish: We renamed Copilot experiences to AI Assistance across the interface, tightened accessibility labels, and refreshed the Feature Preview layout with updated macro radar, assistant visuals, and forecast placement.
  • Clearer Privacy Details: The privacy page now has an explicit last-updated date and documents stored account preferences such as timezone, currency, and related settings.

Row-Level Risk & Weekly R/PnL Bubbles

R-multiple tracking now works at the PnL-row level, making it clearer whether a line is one realized trade or an aggregate result. The weekly view also gets a new bubble chart for exact row-level R values.

  • Single vs. Aggregate Rows: Each PnL row can now be marked as a single trade or an aggregate result. Single rows snapshot your default risk on save, while aggregate rows can derive total risk from closed trade count or use a manual total risk override.
  • Stable Historical R: Saved row risk keeps historical R values stable even if you change your default risk later. Older rows without row-level risk remain PnL-only until you classify them.
  • Weekly R/PnL Bubbles: The weekly journal can now show one bubble per exact PnL row, split around the 0R baseline. Rows without enough risk metadata are excluded from the chart and called out clearly.
  • Clearer Limitations: Costs and taxes remain outside row-level R calculations because they do not map cleanly to individual PnL rows.

More Reliable Weekly AI Reports

Weekly AI Coaching Reports now use a more resilient delivery system, so opted-in traders are less likely to miss their weekly review after infrastructure changes or temporary email capacity limits.

  • Safer Scheduling: Report delivery is now part of the deployment process and is verified automatically, reducing the chance of missing scheduled reports after a server migration.
  • Daily Delivery Protection: The system respects a daily email sending limit and automatically continues pending reports on follow-up runs instead of trying to send everything at once.
  • No Duplicate Reports: Multiple delivery runs can now happen safely because traders who already received the current weekly report are skipped.

Trade Republic PnL Import

We added our first broker-assisted PnL import: Trade Republic activity CSVs can now create closed-trade PnLs directly inside the Performance widget, while keeping the journal focused on conscious review.

  • Trade Republic CSV Import: If Trade Republic is one of your configured brokers, the Performance widget now shows a dedicated import action. Upload your activity export and TradingStreak creates PnL rows for trades closed on that journal day.
  • Intra-Day & Multi-Day Matching: The importer matches BUY lots against SELL transactions, calculates realized PnL, and marks multi-day trades with their opening and closing span.
  • Assisted, Not Autopilot: The goal is to remove admin from PnL entry, not to replace the work of reviewing your trades, mistakes, context, and key takeaways.

AI Image PnL Extraction & Better Uploads

We're continuing to integrate helpful AI features to speed up your journaling. The latest addition is an AI-powered PnL extraction tool right within your Performance widget.

  • AI Extract PnL: After adding an image (like a broker screenshot) to your journal entry, click the AI Extract PnL button next to your Performance widget. Our AI will scan your attachment and automatically populate your exact profit or loss.
  • Dropzone & Copy/Paste: Say goodbye to clunky file selection windows. The Screenshot & Chart widget now features a compact, sleek drag-and-drop zone. Furthermore, if you take screenshots, you can now simply paste (`Ctrl+V` or `Cmd+V`) them directly into the interface while editing.

Gamification & Leaderboard Upgrade

We are excited to share a major update regarding how trading streaks and user consistency are calculated and visualized across the platform.

  • Smart Winning Streaks: Your active streak no longer breaks if you take a day off. We now measure true "Trader's Streaks" focusing purely on consecutive winning days, without punishing you for resting on the weekend.
  • Strict Calendar Streaks: For hardcore users, we still track the traditional strict calendar streak where trading every day is a requirement. Both options are available to view on your analytics.
  • Consistency Score: We introduced a new metric that combines your win rate, profit factor, and active trading days into a unified score showing how robust your strategy is.
  • Expanded Leaderboard: The global and group leaderboards have been overhauled to show Top Consistency Scorers, Longest Win Streaks, and the best Profit Factors.
  • Analytics Refresh: Your analytics dashboard now neatly stacks all your streak metrics into a selectable widget allowing easy deep dives without cluttering your view.

AI Grammar Improvement

Public mode users now have an exclusive feature right inside your journal entries! You can use our AI to effortlessly improve the grammar and wording of your trading notes, ensuring your entries look professional and clear. Just click the Improve button with the ✨ icon next to your dictation feature.

  • Requires Public Mode to be enabled in Settings.
  • Polishes your writing without losing your original meaning or tone.
  • Context-Aware: The AI analyzes your unsaved PnL entries, market conditions, and chosen emotions in real-time to suggest the most accurate trading terminology while you type.

Smart Math Input

You can now calculate your PnL directly inside your journal. Simply type math expressions like 10 - 5 or 200 * 0.5 directly into the PnL amount field.

  • Intelligent Evaluation: The PnL amount field evaluates formulas automatically on the fly, saving you from navigating away to use an external calculator.
  • Seamless UX: The raw formula remains visible while you type, and neatly compiles down to the final value once you press enter or click away.

IONOS Server Migration

We've successfully migrated TradingStreak to IONOS servers.

  • Speed: The main improvement is speed, upgrading from SSD to SSD NVMe.
  • Privacy: Our infrastructure keeps being hosted in Germany, helping us meet GDPR requirements.

Macro Regime & AI Event Radar

We just shipped a powerful new tool designed to help you stay ahead of the curve. The Macro Radar gives you a daily overview of market regimes and translates news into actionable insights. Plus, TradingStreak feels snappier than ever thanks to our recent server migration!

  • Macro Regimes: A new dashboard synthesizing Volatility (VIX), Yield Curve, Credit Spreads, and Fed Funds into a clear Risk-On, Neutral, or Risk-Off signal.
  • AI Event Radar: We now use Gemini 3.1 Pro to read daily financial headlines and automatically extract sectors, commodities, and specific stock tickers exposed to those events.
  • Journal Integration: A simple, color-coded traffic light widget is now available right inside your weekly journal view to keep you keyed into the broad market context every day.
  • Server Upgrade: We migrated TradingStreak to a brand new server featuring ultra-fast NVMe SSDs to provide lower latency and a noticeably snappier experience.

Advanced Time Spent Tracking

We've overhauled the Time Spent widget in the journal, giving you the ability to separately track preparation, execution, and review times with a beautiful new interface.

  • Split Stages: Track your preparation time and post-trade review time separately from your actual trading time to gain deeper insights into your routine.
  • Interactive Overlay: Adjust the boundaries between your prep, trade, and review stages effortlessly directly on top of a visual, multi-colored progress bar.
  • Smart Defaults: The widget automatically remembers whether you prefer the simple total time view or the advanced split view, saving you clicks on every entry.

Weekly Dashboard View

We've introduced a dedicated "Week" layout for desktop in the Journal to give you a powerful micro-dashboard of your trading week at a glance.

  • 7-Day Grid: Focus deeply on the current week with a horizontal view of your daily cards, seamlessly navigating week by week.
  • Weekly Analytics: A new dashboard-style widget row effortlessly tracks and displays your weekly PnL, Win Rate, Total Trades, and Net Return.
  • Events Ticker: Keep track of important news and meetups seamlessly with a beautiful horizontally scrolling events ticker built right into the view.

Post-Save Trade Reflection

You can now add a quick self-review after saving a journal entry to reflect on how much of the result came from skill versus luck.

  • Skill vs. Luck Slider: A final reflection modal appears right after save, letting you rate the trade outcome on a simple luck-to-skill spectrum.
  • Flexible Prompt Frequency: You can decide whether TradingStreak asks this every time, only at the end of the week, or never.
  • Perception Tracking: Each response is saved with the journal entry to support future analysis around your own perceived mix of execution quality and variance.

Multi-Day PnL Enhancements

You can now seamlessly combine single day and multi-day PnL entries on the same journal day!

  • Per-Entry Multi-Day PnL: Replaced the global multi-day journal selection with localized per-entry settings, allowing you to add mixed multi-day and single-day profits together on the same journal day.
  • Smart Daily Breakdown UI: The journal now displays a detailed pill showing exactly what date range your multi-day profit spans, along with real-time per-day profit calculations.
  • Restricted Calendars: Prevented illogical future-date selections on multi-day entries based on the current journal day to ensure tracking consistency.

Broker Analytics & Global Logos

We've introduced Global Broker mappings that automatically assign official logos to your commonly used brokers, alongside new usage insights.

  • Broker Logos: The platform now recognizes your custom-named brokers (e.g. "ibkr", "Interactive Brokers") and automatically displays their official logo throughout the application.
  • Broker Analytics: A new section in the dashboard provides detailed insights into which brokers are most popular among users and how many trades occur on each platform.
  • UI Cleanups: Unified the styling of action buttons across the settings configurations for a cleaner experience.

Journal Meetups, ML Forecasts & Newsletter Perks

We've integrated your upcoming meetups directly into your journal, overhauled the Machine Learning Forecast page, and added exciting newsletter features.

  • Journal Meetups:Upcoming meetups you're attending now appear directly in your journal calendar with quick navigation. Meetup cards also feature a new "You're going" badge.
  • ML Forecast Overhaul: The forecast page has been completely redesigned with a new progress bar system (requiring 50 PnL entries for full forecasts), rendering insightful prediction cards.
  • Newsletter Bill Waiver: Subscribing to our newsletter now comes with a perk: it can be used as a bill waiver for your first invoice (your second profitable month).
  • Quality of Life: Improved event modal formatting, minor UI/spacing tweaks, and under-the-hood optimizations for dashboard database queries.

We've improved how your calendar events are ordered and displayed, and brought the most important data directly into your trading journal.

  • Chronological Events: Calendar events are now sorted purely by time, making it much easier to read your daily schedule.
  • Live Timeline: On the calendar page, today's card now features a red timeline indicating the current time relative to your upcoming events.
  • Journal Integration: High-impact events for your selected regions now appear directly on your journal cards for today and the next 6 days. If you write an entry for today, the calendar events are hidden to keep your UI clean.

The True Origin Story

We've completely revamped the Why I Built This page to reflect the authentic origins of TradingStreak.

  • Focus on Realized PnL: Added deep-dives and visualizations explaining why TradingStreak tracks strictly booked/realized profits instead of floating, unrealized noise.

Advanced Risk Tracking & R-Multiples

We've completely overhauled how R-Multiples are calculated to give you deeper, more accurate insights into your performance over time.

  • Historical Accuracy: Your R-Multiples now remember your risk settings at the exact moment of the trade. If you change your risk per trade (1R) in the future, your past history remains explicitly accurate to what you risked then.
  • Dynamic Analysis: Analytics now sum up your realized R-values trade-by-trade, rather than applying a blanket setting to your entire history. This handles variable risk sizing naturally.
  • Streamlined Onboarding: We've introduced a new multi-step onboarding flow to help you set up your currency preferences and R-multiple tracking with ease.
